What is perforated aluminium?

  • Mesh Tech Perforated aluminium produce sheets of aluminium metal that have been punched or stamped with a pattern of holes or other shapes - making perforations.
  • These perforations can be in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, creating the desired pattern for the screen to meet the functional or aesthtic brief. 
  • Perforatead aluminium is commonly used in architectural applications such as building facades as well as in industrial applications such as ventilation systems, acoustic panels and filtration devices. It is extremely versatile as it’s lightweight, corrosion-resistant  and it is able to be formed into a variety of shapes and sizes.
  • The most common perforated mesh shape is the round hole pattern as round holes offer a good balance between open area and strength which are often a requirement from a functional perspective. It is able to be utilised with a wide variety of sizes and patterns to deliver on the aesthetic required.
  • Other common perforated mesh shapes include square, rectangular and slotted patterns. These allow for a wide variety of customised design patterns to be created.
  • The specific functionality required combined with the desired aesthetic appearance influences the size and shape of the perforation.
